There's a particular kind of anxiety that comes with booking your first psychic reading, especially when you've spent weeks trying to understand a situation that refuses to make sense. You wonder whether you should reveal everything, say absolutely nothing, or provide just enough information to establish the circumstances without compromising the reader's supposed ability to know things you haven't mentioned. Somewhere in the process, a consultation you've booked to gain perspective becomes an elaborate examination of whether the person on the other end can perform a convincing feat of perception.
I've never been particularly interested in spending a client's appointment proving that I can identify irrelevant details about her life without being told. If you've booked a reading because your relationship has become inconsistent, you're considering a major professional decision, or you cannot understand why a particular situation keeps repeating, that's what I want to examine. You don't need to withhold the fact that your ex is married while waiting to see whether I independently announce the existence of a wife. We're paying for time together, and I'd prefer to spend it on something considerably more useful.
Knowing what to expect from a psychic reading can help you understand how the session works, what information to provide, how intuitive impressions are interpreted, and what to do with the insight afterward. My readings are question-led, grounded in more than 25 years of professional experience, and informed primarily by claircognizance, with Tarot and other interpretive tools incorporated when appropriate. The purpose is to examine the circumstances you've brought forward, identify relevant patterns and possibilities, and provide an interpretation you can evaluate alongside your own experience.
Some clients come looking for a direct answer about another person's feelings or intentions, while others need help examining a situation with several competing influences. Both are legitimate reasons to seek a reading, and I have no interest in pretending every question about an ex-boyfriend needs to become a spiritual dissertation on personal growth. However, I'm also not going to ignore information that may complicate the outcome you're hoping for simply because a more reassuring interpretation would make the appointment easier.
Here's what the experience actually involves, from the moment you book to what happens after the reading ends.
What Happens Before Your First Psychic Reading?
When you book a private reading, the first consideration is the question or situation you want examined. You don't need to arrive with an elaborate script, a complete chronology of every significant experience you've ever had, or a vocabulary of spiritual terminology. Having a reasonably clear understanding of what you want to explore allows us to spend more time examining the circumstances and less time determining why you've scheduled the appointment.
Perhaps your question is whether an ex intends to return, what someone genuinely feels about your connection, or whether a professional opportunity is likely to develop. Those are appropriate starting points, and I don't require clients to disguise their actual concerns beneath a more spiritually acceptable question. If you're asking about reconciliation, we can begin by examining that possibility and the influences surrounding it.
The circumstances may introduce additional considerations as the reading develops. Someone returning to a relationship doesn't automatically establish that the relationship will become more stable, just as emotional attachment doesn't guarantee a willingness to commit. Recognizing those distinctions can be an important part of the interpretation, particularly when the history of the situation suggests that several different influences are involved.
You can provide relevant background information without turning the reading into a complete retelling of everything that's happened. A brief explanation of the relationship, the people involved, and the circumstances prompting your question is generally sufficient to establish the subject. If additional context would help clarify something, there's room to address that as the session develops.
For a more detailed discussion of what to prepare and how to frame your inquiry, I've written How to Prepare for a Psychic or Tarot Reading So You Get Something Useful From It. That article covers the preparation process in greater depth, including choosing a question and understanding which reading format suits your needs.
Do You Need to Tell a Psychic Everything?
One of the more persistent misconceptions about psychic readings is that providing context somehow invalidates the experience. Some people believe a legitimate psychic should be able to identify every significant detail without assistance, while others worry that mentioning something important will influence the interpretation. Both assumptions can create unnecessary complications when the actual purpose of the appointment is to examine a particular concern.
My primary intuitive ability is claircognizance, which I experience as an immediate understanding of information, dynamics, or impressions relevant to the situation I'm examining. I may receive information before you've explained a particular detail, or something you've shared may help establish the context in which an impression should be understood. The fact that I work intuitively doesn't make ordinary communication unnecessary.
Consider someone asking why a romantic partner has become increasingly unavailable. Knowing that the person has recently experienced a significant family loss, is navigating a divorce, or has repeatedly withdrawn whenever commitment becomes relevant can provide important context. Those circumstances don't automatically determine the interpretation, but disregarding them simply to preserve an appearance of psychic mystery would serve little purpose.
I'm also interested in distinguishing observable events from the conclusions you've developed about them. Telling me that someone stopped initiating contact after a discussion about exclusivity provides information about what occurred. Explaining that he withdrew because his feelings became too intense introduces an interpretation that may or may not accurately describe his motivations.
Both can be discussed, but I don't want the second explanation to become an assumption that determines everything else we examine. Your perspective matters, particularly because you know the circumstances of your life more intimately than I do. My role is to introduce another perspective through intuitive interpretation while remaining willing to consider information that challenges the initial understanding.
You also don't need to provide passwords, sensitive financial records, intimate photographs, or unrelated personal information to receive a reading. Relevant context should help establish the question, not require you to surrender unnecessary details about your private life.
What Happens During a Private Psychic Reading by Phone?
My live psychic readings take place exclusively by phone, so there's no video call, special software, or expectation that you prepare an atmospheric setting for the occasion. You can speak with me privately from somewhere comfortable and reasonably free of distractions, provided you're able to give the conversation your attention. The important part is the question you're bringing, rather than whether you've arranged candles in an aesthetically pleasing formation behind your laptop.
We begin with the situation you want examined and the relevant circumstances surrounding it. As I focus on the inquiry, I work claircognizantly, paying attention to the information, impressions, and patterns that emerge. Depending upon the nature of the question, I may also incorporate Tarot or other intuitive tools to examine particular influences more closely.
The conversation develops according to what we're exploring and the time available within your appointment. I may ask a clarifying question, explain a distinction between different impressions, or identify something that seems particularly relevant to the outcome you're considering. You're welcome to respond, provide additional context, and ask me to clarify an interpretation that requires further explanation.
That's one of the principal advantages of a live session. We're able to follow the information as it emerges rather than remaining confined to a question submitted in advance. If the original inquiry reveals another relevant concern, we can explore it within the scope of the appointment without requiring you to anticipate every question before the conversation begins.
My live offerings include fifteen-, thirty-, and sixty-minute sessions, with each designed to accommodate a different level of complexity. A fifteen-minute session focuses on one clearly defined question, while longer appointments provide more room for additional questions, context, and exploration. You can review the available options through my Private Psychic & Tarot Readings page.
How I Use Claircognizance and Tarot During a Reading
Claircognizance is the foundation of my psychic work, and it's the way I most naturally experience intuitive information. Rather than relying exclusively on images, sounds, or physical sensations, information frequently arrives as an immediate sense of knowing concerning a situation or the dynamics influencing it. That understanding may emerge quickly, although interpreting its significance still requires attention to context and the circumstances being examined.
Tarot offers an additional interpretive framework when I want to examine a particular influence or develop a more comprehensive understanding of the question. I've worked with the cards for more than 25 years, primarily within the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition, and I consider their traditional symbolism alongside the intuitive impressions that emerge. Card positions, relationships between cards, and the specific question all contribute to how I interpret a spread.
I don't consider every card to have one universal meaning that can be applied identically to every relationship or situation. A card associated with attraction, for example, may indicate an emotional connection without establishing that either person is prepared to build a committed partnership. The surrounding cards and broader circumstances may introduce limitations that are equally important to the interpretation.
There are also occasions when an intuitive impression develops beyond the card's most familiar symbolism or encourages a closer examination of a particular theme. My aim is to integrate those sources of information into a coherent interpretation rather than presenting disconnected impressions and leaving the client to determine what they might mean.
If you're interested in the specifics of my methodology, my article What Is an Intuitive Tarot Reading? How My Readings Actually Work explains the relationship between claircognizance, traditional Tarot symbolism, and the way I interpret my clients' questions.
What If the Psychic Reading Reveals Something You Weren't Expecting?
Sometimes the information emerging during a reading supports what you've suspected for some time. You may have recognized a particular pattern, questioned someone's intentions, or sensed that a professional opportunity was developing in a certain direction. Hearing an interpretation that aligns with your existing observations can provide an additional perspective on circumstances you've already been considering.
Other times, the interpretation may challenge the explanation you've become attached to, particularly when you've invested substantial emotional energy in a specific outcome. Perhaps you're convinced that a former partner's withdrawal reflects fear of his feelings, while the information emerging suggests that his interest and availability are considerably less aligned than you've assumed. That distinction may be disappointing, especially if you've been interpreting his occasional affection as evidence that commitment is inevitable.
Consider a woman whose partner regularly expresses affection but disappears whenever the relationship requires consistent participation. An intuitive impression may suggest emotional attachment, and there may be genuine significance to that information. However, the existing pattern of withdrawal still deserves examination because affection and the willingness to maintain a stable relationship are different considerations.
If I recognize indications of potential communication or renewed contact, I want to examine what that development may actually mean within the broader circumstances. Someone returning can be significant without establishing that the relationship will become what you want. Offering a prediction about reconciliation while disregarding repeated patterns of unavailability would leave out information that may be essential to the client's decision.
I don't believe that honesty requires being abrasive, humiliating someone for remaining attached, or delivering an interpretation with unnecessary cruelty. People often seek readings because they're navigating situations that matter deeply to them, and their vulnerability deserves respect. But I also won't manufacture a favorable interpretation to avoid an uncomfortable conversation or encourage someone to disregard information that may be important.
The most useful reading isn't necessarily the one that makes you feel better immediately. It's the one that gives you a sufficiently thoughtful interpretation to consider what may be happening and how you want to respond.
Can You Disagree With Something a Psychic Says?
Absolutely. You're entitled to explain when an interpretation doesn't correspond with the circumstances you know, ask what I mean by a particular observation, or question how an impression relates to your situation. A reading shouldn't require you to suspend your judgment or treat every statement as something you're obligated to accept.
There may be circumstances in which additional information changes how an impression should be interpreted. Perhaps I've understood a relationship dynamic in one way, and a detail you provide suggests that another explanation deserves consideration. Being willing to recognize that possibility is part of communicating an interpretation responsibly rather than defending every initial impression as though it must be infallible.
I also distinguish between intuitive information and independently verified facts. Psychic and Tarot readings aren't scientifically established methods for confirming another person's private thoughts or guaranteeing future events. An interpretation may offer a meaningful perspective, but that doesn't place it beyond reasonable scrutiny or remove the importance of what you already know.
You remain free to consider the reading, compare it with observable behavior, and determine whether the information contributes something useful to your understanding. If an observation doesn't fit the evidence available to you, there's nothing wrong with recognizing that discrepancy. I would much rather have a thoughtful conversation about what the interpretation actually suggests than encourage a client to accept something simply because I've said it confidently.
Can a Psychic Tell You Exactly What Will Happen?
I do make predictive assessments, although I approach future possibilities with an understanding that decisions, circumstances, and relationships can change. My usual predictive horizon is approximately twelve months, because I prefer working within a period where the relevant influences can be examined with greater specificity. That's a parameter of my own practice rather than a universal rule governing every psychic or Tarot reader.
If I'm examining whether a relationship may develop, I consider the possibilities suggested by the intuitive information while also recognizing that both people retain the ability to make different choices. Someone may feel strongly about another person and still decide not to pursue the connection. A potential reconciliation may appear possible without becoming inevitable.
I don't want clients treating an encouraging prediction as permission to disregard what they're currently experiencing. If someone repeatedly demonstrates that they're unwilling to commit, the possibility of future contact shouldn't automatically become a reason to remain indefinitely available. You can consider the potential development while still making decisions based upon the actual circumstances of the relationship.
The same principle applies to professional opportunities and other significant decisions. A promising interpretation doesn't eliminate practical considerations, and a challenging one doesn't establish that every unfavorable outcome is unavoidable. The reading offers a perspective on what may be developing, while the decisions that follow remain yours.
What Should You Expect From a Written Tarot Reading?
Written Tarot readings are completed asynchronously, meaning you submit your question and relevant context when placing your order rather than participating in a scheduled conversation. I personally draw and interpret the cards, incorporate intuitive impressions where they contribute meaningfully to the interpretation, and prepare a written account of the reading. The completed reading is delivered as a personalized PDF, including an image of the cards drawn.
My Written Intuitive Tarot Readings are designed around one focused question, with one-, three-, five-, and ten-card options available. The number of cards determines how extensively I can examine the circumstances within that particular inquiry. A narrow question may be appropriately addressed through a smaller spread, while a complicated relationship or decision may benefit from additional cards and interpretation.
The advantage of the written format is that you can return to the reading whenever you want. Something that initially seems less significant may become more relevant after you've had time to consider the interpretation or as the circumstances surrounding your question develop. You also have the original wording available rather than relying upon what you remember hearing.
A written reading doesn't involve live follow-up or an opportunity to redirect the question once the interpretation is underway. That's why choosing the appropriate scope when ordering matters, particularly if you have several different subjects you want to explore. The format works best when you've identified the central question and would appreciate a considered interpretation you can review privately.
What Happens When You Order an Audio Tarot Reading?
Audio readings offer another way to receive a personalized interpretation without scheduling a phone appointment. You submit your question or select a broader reading subject, and I prepare a private recording that you can listen to at your convenience. The interpretation is Tarot-focused, with claircognizant impressions incorporated where they add relevant information or nuance.
My Audio Tarot Readings include a Focused option for one question, an Expanded option for up to three questions, and an Open General Reading for a broader subject such as love, career, or the current direction of your life. The number of cards is determined by what the inquiry requires rather than by a predetermined card-count selection.
For clients who process information more easily by listening, the spoken format can be especially appealing. You'll hear the interpretation in my own voice, including the emphasis and distinctions that develop as I explain what the cards are suggesting. The recording remains available for you to revisit afterward.
Like written readings, audio readings are prepared independently rather than through an interactive conversation. You're receiving the interpretation according to the scope of the option you've ordered, so it's important to distinguish between a focused question and a broader subject before submitting your inquiry.
How Long Does It Take to Receive an Asynchronous Reading?
My written and audio readings are generally delivered within five to ten business days, depending upon the current schedule and reading queue. Each reading is prepared individually, with the cards drawn and interpreted specifically for the question or subject submitted. The turnaround reflects the time involved in preparing personalized work rather than an instant or automated response.
Written readings arrive as PDFs, while audio readings are delivered as private recordings through the email address associated with your order. Your order confirmation provides the relevant delivery information, so you can understand what you've purchased and how the completed reading will reach you. If the current queue requires additional time, I communicate any extension by email.
If you have a time-sensitive question and would prefer direct interaction, a live phone appointment may be more appropriate, depending upon the available booking schedule. The formats offer different experiences, and the most useful choice depends upon the scope of the inquiry, your timing, and whether you want the opportunity to ask additional questions during the reading.
What Should You Do After a Psychic Reading?
Once the reading is complete, I recommend considering the central observations before deciding what they mean for your next steps. If several influences were discussed, identify which ones appear most relevant to the circumstances you're navigating and whether the interpretation has changed your understanding of anything important. You don't need to immediately reorganize your life around every possibility mentioned during the appointment.
Pay particular attention to the distinction between what was actually communicated and the conclusions you may be tempted to draw afterward. If I suggest that an ex may contact you again, that doesn't automatically become a promise of reconciliation, marriage, or lasting commitment. If I perceive affection within a connection, that information shouldn't be expanded into a guarantee that the other person will eventually become emotionally available.
The same care applies when an interpretation challenges something you've believed. Perhaps I've identified a recurring pattern that you've been reluctant to acknowledge, or suggested that an opportunity may involve limitations you hadn't fully considered. You can examine whether the interpretation is supported by the circumstances rather than automatically accepting or rejecting it based upon how comfortable it makes you feel.
Sometimes a reading introduces a useful perspective immediately, while other observations become more relevant after you've had time to reflect. You may want to note the distinctions that matter, revisit a written or audio interpretation, or consider what additional real-world information would help clarify the situation. The objective is to use the reading thoughtfully rather than treating it as a set of instructions that replaces your judgment.
Do You Need Another Psychic Reading If Nothing Has Changed?
One of the less useful habits that can develop around psychic readings is repeatedly asking the same question when the circumstances haven't changed. Perhaps you've received an interpretation suggesting that an ex may return, and two weeks later you're wondering whether another reading will provide a more precise answer. You may feel temporarily reassured by each new assessment while remaining in exactly the same position regarding the actual relationship.
There are circumstances in which follow-up readings make sense, particularly when significant developments introduce new information or change the question being examined. Someone may have returned, communicated different intentions, or created a situation requiring additional consideration. In those cases, there may genuinely be something new worth exploring.
However, when the same pattern continues and you're seeking another interpretation primarily because the uncertainty has become uncomfortable, it's worth examining what the additional appointment is expected to accomplish. Are you looking for information that wasn't available previously, or hoping that a different reading will finally provide the certainty you've been waiting for? The distinction matters because repeated reassurance can become an expensive substitute for making a decision.
I don't believe clients benefit from becoming dependent upon readings every time another person's behavior creates uncertainty. A meaningful interpretation should provide perspective you can continue working with, even when the circumstances don't immediately resolve themselves. You can return with a new question when there's something substantive to examine without assuming that every period of waiting requires another appointment.

The Point of a Psychic Reading Is What You Understand When It's Over
It's understandable to approach a first psychic reading with a mixture of curiosity, anticipation, and concern about what the experience might involve. You may be wondering whether the reader will recognize something significant, whether a prediction will confirm your hopes, or whether the conversation will reveal information you haven't been able to understand through ordinary means. Those expectations can become particularly intense when the situation you're bringing carries substantial emotional significance.
But the usefulness of a reading deserves to be evaluated through more than whether the practitioner said something surprising or offered a prediction you found reassuring. Consider whether the interpretation addressed your question, distinguished between the relevant influences, and gave you something meaningful to examine. A reading that identifies genuine complications may be considerably more useful than one that promises an extraordinary outcome without acknowledging anything that could prevent it.
You should be able to leave with a clearer understanding of what was communicated, what remains uncertain, and which aspects of the circumstances deserve your attention. You may agree with parts of the interpretation, question others, or discover that something becomes more significant after you've had time to consider it. None of that requires abandoning the judgment and experience you brought into the reading.
And if the answer challenges a conclusion you've been particularly invested in, you don't need to pretend that hearing it is easy. You can experience disappointment, reconsider your assumptions, and allow yourself time to decide what the information means for your circumstances. Your decisions remain yours, regardless of whether the interpretation supports the outcome you were hoping for.
The purpose of a psychic reading isn't to leave you permanently convinced that someone else knows your future better than you know yourself. It's to give you a perspective worth examining so you can approach the circumstances in front of you with greater understanding, stronger discernment, and the confidence to make your own decisions.
